Kate Johnson: Crimestoppers
Kate Johnson: Crimestoppers
In late 2012, Kate Johnston from the Crimestoppers joined us. Crimestoppers is a registered charity. Its mission is to provide a means to detect, reduce and prevent crime through the provision of information about crimes and criminals to law enforcement agencies from anonymous sources. Kate joined Crimestoppers as the National Manager for Scotland in 2008 and spent three years working closely with Scottish Policing, Law Enforcement, Scottish Government and a network of volunteers to help fight crime in Scotland.
In 2011 Kate took on a newly created post as the Commercial Manager for the organisation UK wide. Part of that role is working with both public and private sector organisations looking at and providing solutions for industry specific crime issues, intelligence gathering and gaps, insider threats, criminality and wrongdoing in the workplace.
Prior to joining Crimestoppers Kate worked for The Variety Club Children’s Charity. Kate gave us an insight into the behind the scenes of what goes on in the UK to prevent and fight criminal activity in our communities as well as on a national scale.
