Kirsty Andrew: Corporate Social Responsibility at Williams F1
In May 2012, The Lunch Circle was lucky enough to have Ms Kirsty Andrew as our guest speaker. Kirsty works as a Business Development Manager at Williams F1.
Kirsty joined Williams F1 in 2010 after a successful career with Xtrac, the world’s leading motorsport transmission supplier and Cranfield Impact Centre (CIC), a FIA (Federation Internationale de L’Automobile) approved crash test centre. She heads Williams Advanced Engineering’s business development activity. Kirsty’s role includes identifying ways in which to exploit the technologies derived from the Formula One side of the business for use in wider applications. Kirsty’s motorsport career may have only started in 1999, but her passion for racing started in childhood when she attended her first race in 1974 at Bathurst, Australia. The interest in Formula One started in 1980 after attending the Dutch Grand Prix, co-incidentally the first year that Williams won the Constructors’ Championship and Alan Jones won the Drivers’ Championship. Kirsty is also the No.2 Mechanic on her family’s farm – driving tractors at harvest time, when required!
Kirsty discussed Corporate Social Responsibility as the driver for business diversification and explored beyond the cars at the race track and the glossy side of F1.
